From Founder-Led Sales to Repeatable Revenue
Build a clearer commercial system for creating repeatable B2B revenue
Many B2B startups win their first customers through the founder’s experience, relationships, energy and persistence.
That can create early momentum, but it does not necessarily create a commercial system that another person can understand, apply and improve.
Opportunities may depend on instinct. Positive conversations can be mistaken for buyer intent. The target market may remain too broad, and forecasts can become expressions of hope rather than evidence.
From Founder-Led Sales to Repeatable Revenue is being developed to help founders and commercial leaders address those problems.
It will bring together practical planning, customer focus, value-based selling, buyer-aligned sales process and readiness to scale in one connected commercial framework.
The programme is being designed to help you:
identify the markets, customers and use cases on which to focus;
understand what customers genuinely value and what causes them to act;
communicate a clearer and more compelling customer story;
distinguish curiosity and positive interest from commercial intent;
qualify opportunities using evidence of buyer movement;
build a disciplined, buyer-aligned sales process;
improve pipeline and forecast credibility;
reduce dependence on instinct, individual personalities and heroic effort; and
decide what must be proven before hiring or attempting to scale.
You do not need to become pushy, aggressive or adopt a sales personality that does not feel natural.
Effective B2B selling comes from commercial clarity, a sound process, genuine curiosity about the customer and the discipline to act on evidence.
The proposed commercial journey
1. Find your commercial focus
Identify the target markets, use cases and customers where the business has the strongest reason to win.
2. Understand why customers act
Explore the problems, outcomes and commercial pressures that move a customer from general interest to a decision.
3. Build a compelling customer story
Connect the product to outcomes customers value and communicate that value clearly and credibly.
4. Create a buyer-aligned sales process
Map how customers make decisions, define evidence-based opportunity stages and recognise genuine buyer movement.
5. Build towards repeatable revenue
Improve pipeline discipline, forecasting, lead generation and commercial capability without scaling before the foundations are ready.
6. Put the system into operation
Use practical tools, templates and a 90-day action plan to apply the programme to the participant’s own business.
Practical tools. Immediate application. Lasting capability.
The course does not stop at ideas and theory.
You will receive practical tools that I have developed, refined and used throughout nearly four decades of building B2B technology businesses.
Each tool is designed to be put into operation immediately. Used properly, they can create a significant improvement in commercial capability from day one.
But the real value is not simply in completing a template.
I teach the thinking behind each tool: why it exists, what problem it solves and how it supports better commercial decisions.
Once you understand those principles, you can adapt each tool to suit:
your product;
your target market;
your stage of maturity;
your sales model; and
the changing needs of your business.
The tools give you structure now. The understanding behind them allows you to keep improving as your company grows.
Help determine how the programme should work
The final format has not yet been fixed.
I am currently exploring the most useful combination of concise online teaching, practical exercises, adaptable commercial tools and optional implementation support.
The programme could become a focused self-paced course, a guided online programme or a combination of the two. Feedback from founders and commercial practitioners will help determine which format creates the greatest practical value.
The programme is currently in development
I am inviting founders, commercial leaders and people working inside early-stage B2B businesses to contribute to its development.
Register your interest if you would like to:
participate in a short research survey;
preview selected material;
provide feedback on the proposed programme;
hear about any pilot or founding programme; or
be notified when the final format is confirmed.
Optional coaching and advisory
For businesses that need individual help applying the principles to their particular market, customers and commercial challenges, separate coaching and advisory support may also be available on a limited basis.
This support will remain optional and will not be required to benefit from the eventual programme.
